My Story
On October 16, 1991, a cafeteria in Killeen, TX was attacked by a mass killer with a grievance against women. As a result, twenty-three people living their daily lives were killed and twenty-seven were injured. As a young Military Intelligence Specialist from Buffalo, NY and stationed at Ft. Hood, TX, Luby's Cafeteria was a home away from home; a place you could unwind, take in friendly smiles and conversation, and meet new friends. Little did I know that a year after my military service ended, it would be met with a horror that continues to plague our Nation over thirty-years later. As a result, a career in law enforcement was born along with a passion and commitment to prevent mass violence and workplace violence in our communities.
